Adding Electronic Parental Signatures to Education Programs

Electronic parent signatures can be added to Education Programs for individual students. The signature is contained in a “block” in the education program. A sample of an unsigned Parental Signature Block is shown here.

Each education program is created with a default Parental Signature block included. The parental signature is designated as an “Annual” signature. This means that once a signature is created in the block, reminders will be generated to update the signature annually. Those reminders are sent 30 days before the one year anniversary of the signature and are sent to the email address included in the Email box in the signature block. 

There are two steps involved in adding a parental signature to an education program. The first 

Is for the teacher or organization staff member responsible for the students education program to add the email address of the parent to the signature block in the education program.The second is for the parent to login into the BehaviorFlow website, review the education program requiring the signature, and sign if they agree.

Assigning Parental Email to an Educational Program

The teacher or organization staff member responsible for the students education program logs into the BehaviorFlow website, accesses the education program for the student, and  adds the email address of the parent to the Parental Consent Signature block. This process is shown here.

Adding the Parent’s Signature to an Education Program

Once the step above has been completed, the parent will receive an email asking them to review and electronically sign the education program for the student.

In order for the parent to sign, they must set up an account using their email address on the BehaviorFlow website. If they have not yet created an account, they will receive an email inviting them to do so. This video shows an example of this case, where the Parents signature account is created, and they review and sign the Education Program.

If the parent has previously created an account,  they will receive an email telling them there is an education program requiring their review. That document will appear in a list when they login to the website and tap the “Signatures” button as shown in this video

The parental signature account allows the parent to access only the “Signatures” page, and not to any other functionality in the Website.
